ACCESSIBILITÀ

Lucca should welcome everyone.

Digital access and practical city information belong in the same place. Here is what this guide can do, what it cannot certify, and the official pages to check before travelling.

01 · WEBAPP

Using perdiqua Lucca

Our internal target is WCAG 2.2 level AA. This is a working commitment, not a third-party certification.

  • Keyboard: skip link, visible focus, Escape to close panels and no mouse-only essential action.
  • Reading: semantic headings, text alternatives, ten interface languages and a text list equivalent to the map.
  • Display: light and dark themes, reduced-motion support, high-contrast and forced-colour support.
  • Location: optional, kept in the page and never required to browse the complete list.

Lucca railway station

RFI lists Lucca in its assistance circuit through Sala Blu Firenze. The station page currently asks for requests up to 12 hours before travel and warns that temporary lift outages can change access. Check the live status before leaving.

Car and restricted zone

Lucca’s current rules require holders of a disability permit issued elsewhere, or using a different vehicle, to register the plate before entering the restricted zone. The official rules also describe how to regularise access when the phone service is unavailable.

Accessible Lucca

The city tourism portal collects accessible routes, tactile paving information and inclusive services. It also points to the LuccAccessibile routes and the sensory route at the Botanical Garden. Use it to plan, then confirm with each venue.
