How this map is made
Every point has its source and the date of the last check. Water points and toilets can break: for these we show when someone last saw them working, even if the date is old. Squares, bridges and monuments come from public sources, named on the card. The professionals in “I need” are taken from official sources.
What’s published right now
- Water: 150
- Toilets: 36
- Study: 54
- See: 308
- Services: 162 (plus 4 reported broken)
- Green: 275
No check carries a name and a date yet, so this line is empty. It fills up on its own as soon as one does.
Who appears on the map
A business appears as a host point only if it offers a real service for free, with no obligation to buy, and it sits in the same list as every other point. In “I need” you’ll also find professionals offering paid services, with details taken from official sources. Nobody can pay to appear or to rank higher.
The list starts from the points closest to you, or from the city centre if you do not share your location. Points checked more than three years ago sink below more recent alternatives nearby; broken ones go last.
When you search, the results that best fit your question come first, then the nearest ones. Nobody can pay to move up the list.
Local services and corrections
We use the place, type and note to check the report. A daily network reference limits abuse and duplicates. A report does not automatically change the map.
Weather and official sources
Weather forecasts refer to central Livorno and do not use your location. Forecast source: MET Norway. The local alert area has not yet been confirmed on this site: for warnings, check the official bulletins from the Civil Protection Department and Regione Toscana.
MET Norway data under CC BY 4.0 licence. If a source does not respond, we say so (“Source cannot be verified right now”) instead of saying there are no alerts.
What we don’t do
- No ratings, no rankings, no stars. We say what was there, and when.
- Browsing the map requires no sign-up or email, and we use no cookies or third-party trackers. Messages you choose to send us are covered by the privacy notice.
- Prices and opening times come from the operators or from the sources shown on the card, such as OpenStreetMap, with the date we read them: check them before you set off. If the opening time is missing or unclear, we do not say whether the place is open.
What we give back
Point data comes from OpenStreetMap (ODbL licence). A correction checked on site is also reported there, with its date.
Dates always in sight
Every point shows the date of its last check; those checked more than three years ago sink below more recent alternatives nearby.
